At Estel, a fast-growing manufacturer of high-performance optical transceivers, we are looking for a Software Engineer Estel is seeking a Software Engineer to develop, maintain and improve software for automated testing and manufacturing of high-speed optical transceivers. Your primary focus will be test automation, equipment integration and reliable production data.
Working alongside test, optical, R&D and operations specialists, you will also contribute to prioritised ERP, MES and robotics-related software projects. Optical-transceiver experience is an advantage, not a prerequisite.
The candidate will be required to travel to Estel's production line and headquaters in Belgium and its R&D facilty in Stockholm Sweden to support projects on a regular basis.

Must Have
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a relatedfield, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years of software development experience for industrial equipment, automated test systems or manufacturing environments.
- Strong .NET development skills using C# and/or VB.NET, with the ability to develop and maintain modular applications.
- Experience developing and testing RESTful APIs and working with SQL databases.
- Practical experience integrating software with equipment or external systems, with strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Working knowledge of version control, software testing, documentation and controlled deployment.
- Ability to collaborate with engineering and production teams, work independently on agreed tasks and learn new technical domains.
Nice to have
- Experience with optical transceivers or photonics test applications, including BER, optical power, eyediagrams or PAM4 measurements.
- Familiaritywith high-speed optical communication standards, such as IEEE 802.3, OIF or MSA specifications.
- ERP or MES integration experience, familiarity with Odoo or Python for targeted internal developments.
- Experience with robotics interfaces, industrial communication or automation equipment.
- Experiencewith CI/CD pipelines, reporting dashboards or production-software deployment.
